Distinguishing itself with its creative goods and services, DenizBank one of the Turkish banks has added its mobile banking products with a new mobile payment feature. DenizBank provides contactless payments via cell phones using NFC (Near Field Communication) technology. With the initiative established by DenizBank in collaboration with Turkcell – Turkey’s largest communication company and with the help of MasterCard and Gemalto, consumers can conveniently use their mobile phones to pay without a password, instantly and safely with contactless card readers.
Thanks to the application, DenizBank customers will be able to conveniently shop at companies with the MasterCard PayPass (contactless payment) logo in the country and around the world using their cell phones without a code, instantly and safely.
In DenizBank’s new service, credit card and secure prepaid card details are uploaded to the SIM card thanks to the Turkcell Cep-T Wallet Service.
Many who wish to use an anonymous prepaid card will automatically generate a prepaid card on their cell phones by using one SMS, without buying a physical card.
Denizbank and Fastpay
Furthermore, Denizbank also launched the fastpay mobile payment system to revolutionize and mobilize payment transfers which can seem much more dynamic compared to the traditional banking services.
You can use any bank credit card without even being a DenizBank member, transfer cash to your wallet 24/7 for free, withdraw cash from an ATM without a fee, transfer funds to member retailers and use several services instantly. The app basically utilized QR code technology and offers many discount campaigns for grocery stores and other places for QR payments.
Other than QR technology, which is applied within this app, the NFC feature, namely Near Field Communication in Android phones as a means to data exchange technology will enable users to use their top-up cards.
The rising importance of Contactless Payments
Interest in contactless payment has risen following the rising coronavirus cases in the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) spokesperson also argued that it was important to use the contactless payment method as much as possible.
Contactless payment is the term given to the user’s payment system (including credit cards, debit cards, mobile phones, and other mobile devices) and the POS device for payment transactions performed without touching.
If this function is not enabled by your card, you must first notify the company you obtained the card from to upgrade the card. All across you see the contactless payment logo, you can use your contactless payment card or your NFC activated device.
If you are paying on a smartphone, you need to download the smartphone app of the company from which you got the card and enable the function “Mobile Payment” in the payments section once you have signed in.
Is NFC payment safe?
The contactless payment scheme operates with radio waves, making quick and swift payments. In the POS unit, the antenna attached to the chip on the card connects with the reader and allows the transaction to take place. A contactless payment quota exists and the quantity of payments that can be made at once is limited. The transaction will fail if any payment exceeds the cap, more or less. Protection is thereby provided.
